A City Memorializes One of the Youngest Civil Rights Martyrs
Glendora was a key site in one of the most brutal incidents in American history – the murder of Emmett Till. After Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam abducted Till in Money, Mississippi, they took him to a nearby cotton gin, where they stole a fan blade that they later used to weigh down his body before throwing him into the Tallahatchie River. Today, Glendora commemorates Till with a museum and a tour dedicated to his life and legacy.
